EXPLORING SMITH ROCK
When we arrived in Bend we asked several friends and strangers what to do, and each time we got the same answer, go to Smith Rock. They were right.
Smith Rock was not overly crowded, but there were small, charming signs like these cairns to remind us that other curious people had been here before.
That evening, we watched a storm roll in over the Skull Hollow Campground.
SKYLINER TRAIL
Following Smith Rock, we headed west to explore the Deschutes National Forest. There we mountain biked at Phil’s Trailhead and hiked through the snow on the Skyliner Trail.
Smith Rocks! one of my favorite places. I grew up rock climbing here. Great pics!
